A couple weeks ago, the pool I swim at (less than half mile from my house) had a problem with a light fixture and some flooding. It has been drained an is now closed for repairs, probably through the end of the year.  I was just getting back into it and ramping up! I prefer to swim over anything else.

So, now I am lifting weights, and it feels great. I should have never quit lifting weights. I feel much stronger, even though I probably am not any stronger than last week…yet(!).

I don’t think this will be a problem unless it goes past mid-February. I just need time to ramp up to 2,000 yards straight, able to complete that relatively easy and I can get out of the water still fresh during the St. George 70.3 in early May.

What do you do when you can’t swim?
