Here it is! Peak Week! that last week of good hard training to build fitness. After this week, I’m tapering for two weeks. I figure I’ll knock of volume and intensity about half next week, and then go with just some really easy and short workouts that have bursts of high intensity outputs to make sure my body remembers what that feels like. I also expect to keep swimming about 4,000 – 5,000 yards a week simply because I want to keep that effort available to me; I know that I lose ability in the water very quickly.

I’m also working on a super-secret project. I think everyone will like it. It combines several passions of mine, so I think it will come out pretty good.

Next week, I’ll post my final goals for the race on Sept 8. I’m feeling good about my preparations. I didn’t get everything I wanted in terms of volume, but I did pretty well, given the various competing priorities.
